Site Launch – Sí TV

I’m really excited to announce that newly redesigned SITV.COM is live! It was built using a content management system (CMS) known as Drupal. Learning the ins and outs of Drupal over the last few months has been great. I now feel like I have a good grip on working with the CMS. At times, things got frustrating, but always rewarding when problems were solved. I take with me the experience and the knowledge. I am now able to work with both WordPress and Drupal! Of course, WordPress is still my favorite.

In any case, please enjoy the new SITV.COM

Site Launch – Rynostevie

A little bit ago a good friend asked me to create a website to showcase some of his work. Ryan Green is passionate about film, creating art, and telling stories through the eye of his camera. I feel lucky just to know this guy, let alone to have had the opportunity to build the canvas to his portfolio.

So, without further adieu, your Red Eye Designer presents Rynostevie.com

Check out his work and subscribe to his YouTube channel if you like to keep it real.

Working as a Freelancer

I’ve been asked a few times how my job has been working out. As some of you know, I currently have a freelance job with a TV network. It’s great because the job comes with a consistent paycheck and there’s no need for me to chase anyone down to pay their invoice on time. Something every freelancer has to deal with are all the administrative things of a business. Everything from sales to accounting. So the fact that I got a gig where I don’t have to deal with any of it certainly makes me feel warm inside.

However, being a freelancer means no paid vacations, no sick pay, and no health insurance. Options like eHealthInsurance.com definitely help, but that is something I have to take care of on my own.

Digging into WordPress

Learning so much about Drupal over the last few months have been fun. However, it’s also pushed me into wanting to really dig into WordPress lately. I’ve been absent from my site for a long time and it’s finally time I get back in gear. I recently purchased Digging into WordPress and am 4 chapters in. I love it! I definitely recommend it to anyone wants to learn how to make WordPress their own.

I’ll be working on a new WordPress project soon and this book has definitely made me more comfortable. Way more than I was when I launched this site – and I’m only 4 chapters in!
