Red Eye Designer 2.0

After about 12 straight hours of developing I’ve finally got my site’s redesign Live! While I’m not 100% done with the site, I wanted to get something live to work out any bugs I may encounter. Design wise, I’m done. I have some content to add and that’s about it. I’m really excited about this. I’ve spent the better part of the last few months to learn the ins and outs of WordPress and I finally feel like I have a good grasp. I’ve added some cool jQuery effects over in the main navigation and on the links in the side bar. I’ve even added a cool css effect to make the comments look like speech bubbles. It’s all css, no images. Now I’ve got to add the finishing touches and search for quirks. If you see any, please let me know.

My site is nearly done!

So, what is this place?

In short, it is a place that will serve as my portfolio to showcase some of the work I’ve done and to provide those interested with information on services that I provide. While it may become more than that someday, demonstrating my ability to develop will be this site’s main purpose. That being said, I believe that there is a time to be professional and time to be casual, even while in the same space. Yes, I will be blogging about web development and entrepreneurship, but that doesn’t mean I won’t throw in a fast ball and talk about something completely random. This is after all a blog about me, a Red Eye Designer. It’s no secret that most freelance developers work until the wee hours of the morning, sometimes not sleeping at all. Who knows what will pop into my head after days of sleep deprivation. Could be anything from the latest trends on the web or charlie the unicorn. Who knows. At the end of the day, RedEyeDesigner.com is a professional yet personal place. A place where I can express how happy I am about something and a place where I can express how miserable I am with internet explorer.

The shape of things to come

Over the next few days I will be adding content to this site. Here’s a list:

  • Detailed information on services that I will provide
  • A general idea of how much said services will cost
  • A portfolio section
  • A detailed ‘About’ page
  • Information on how to reach me
  • Video Blogs (Vlogs)

All of this and more in just a few days.

…but I want to get involved now!

I’ve done a pretty good job of cross browser compatibility, but of course I could have missed something. If you’re roaming around my site and notice something out of wack, be a pal and let me know. This site hasn’t officially launched yet, but the countdown has started.

Here are some other things you can do:

  • Hire me – Have some work you need done? I’m your guy. Hit me up for more info.
  • Tell a friend – Let people know that your buddy ol’ pal is open for business.
  • Dance around – Seriously, this is a good way to unwind after a long day.

Get to work David! I want this site done NOW!

Alright, time to to make like a new born and head out. Peace!
